The exhibition was a retrospective exhibition for the textile master Junichi Arai. His textile works in different forms, including textiles, clothing and installations were displayed. The exhibition tried to highlight various textile techniques developed by Junichi Arai, his design concept and contributions to the textile industry and Japanese culture.

Before organised the exhibition in POLYU, HK in 2017, exhibition team had held an exhibition "Evolutionary Cloth - Art of Junichi Arai" at Hubei Museum of Art in 2016. The video record the showcase.

This is a documentary video about Junichi Arai's exhibition "Arai Junichi - Tradition and Creation" held at Tokyo Opea City Art Gallery in 2013. We edited the original exhibition video and played onsite to let audiences may better viewing the textile details.

DOCUMENTARY 3

This video is the documentary of a digital jacquard project organised within the exhibition. Hong Kong artists and academics were invited to participate and experience the jacquard techniques, which was one of the most important textile techniques developed by Junichi. The created work was presented in the exhibition as development and the salute to Mr. Arai.
